Alright, so, this is my contest entry for I told her to do a contest, because I would enter it, so heh xD Right, about the mare.
Her name is Sonata. She's a mustang x quarter horse x paint mare. Her father was a wild mustang stallion, who was, unfortunately, slaughtered, like most of his herd. Her mother, a quarter x paint cross, was a calm, easy-going ranch horse mare, only used on cattle drives and ranch work. Her father, the mustang, jumped the fence to her pasture while her mother was in heat, and stole her away for a time. The mare came back, but she was heavy with foal. When born, Sonata was a very jumpy, hyperactive, wild, reckless filly, and when she played games with the other foals, she was always the leader. Her odd markings (the butterflies, mostly) were a surprise, because the wild mustang stallion had no known markings, and her mother only had a stripe-ish marking on her forehead that looked like an eighth note. She seemed to grow quickly, and when she was two, they tried to break her, though she obviously would not be broken. Her owner was dissappointed, since she was born from their best ranch mare. But he let her go and be free, though she only roamed around the ranch and visited often. But one night, she decided to go exploring, and found herself in a village of Indians, where they braided a feather into her mane (not shown here). She lived around there for a time, but grew adventurous, and wandered away from the village, the ranch, and across the open plains. She ventured into a calm forest one day, and at a calm river, she met the most handsome stallion.
Now, from there, who knows, because I don't know if I'll win the contest, but I have faith in her, and if I don't win, oh well, because I'll still lurve her, because she's awesome xD
Sonata (or Sonny, as I now call her) is a very calm, gentle mare, who is very much sane and anyone would enjoy to be around her. She is wild at heart, and on the outside too, but unless someone's throwing a saddle on her back and a bit in her mouth, she's big hearted and loveable. She has never felt love before (wink wink, nudge nudge, know what I mean, say n' more, say n' more!) but may soon. She loved and loves still the kind hearted Indians, but she knows she'll probably not see them again in her lifetime. She loves the rain, leaves, birdsong, long grasses in Spring, long Winters, singing cheerfully to herself, wandering, the Indians, and the sea. She absolutely hates pushy horses, rats, spiders, ominous trees (she has a weird-ish in-tune-with-nature thing going on), overly flirty brutes, tack, rancher dudes (heh, dude ranchers xD) that sell horses to slaughter houses (she doesn't know about her dad yet) and so on and so forth. She likes Cabello because he seems to balance her out, since he has enough crazy for the two of them put together. She doesn't really know the world, and she's still innocent, but she believes in bigger things (if that makes any sense at all). She's a born leader, and will stand for no less, even if that means running a herd all by herself. She enjoys walking - she absolutely loves it, and feels no urge to run (though somtimes she just needs to burn some energy). So, yeah, that's Sonny for ya xD
